Christ, the Son of God
Description
There is a widespread doctrine in Christianity that Christ is God. But Christ is not God; Christ is the Son of God, the highest being created by God. Christ came into being out of God, out of his person, and everything that came into being in creation, came into being out of Christ. In the first lecture of this issue, spirit-teacher Joseph discusses Christ’s origin as the Son of God; he explains why Christ had to enter human existence and the meaning of Christ’s act of redemption – the meaning of his words “I am the way, the truth, and the life”. In the second lecture, Joseph explains that there must have been a reason for Christ to reconcile humankind with God. He describes how a portion of the divine beings once rebelled against Christ in the kingdom of heaven and were cast into hell together with their ringleader Lucifer. It is only thanks to the redemptive work of Christ that the fallen have the opportunity to walk the return path to God and to take up their original place again.
The third lecture focuses on the intimate relationship between God and Christ. The heavenly Father gave his Son from all that he himself possesses. All things came into being through Christ, and the whole of creation is subject to his power.
